Terms of Service

Last updated

These terms apply when you use KeptLink (“KeptLink”, “we”, “us”): the website keptlink.com, the free QR code generator, the dashboard at app.keptlink.com, and the short links and dynamic QR codes served from keptlink.app. KeptLink is operated by Vivek Kumar, a sole proprietor based in India. By using KeptLink, you agree to these terms. If you use it for an organization, you agree on its behalf. If you don't agree, please don't use KeptLink.

The free generator

  • You may use the generator for free, for personal or commercial purposes, without an account.
  • The QR codes and files you create are yours to use. We don't claim ownership of them, we don't add a watermark, and static codes made on keptlink.com don't expire. Static codes don't pass through KeptLink when scanned.

Accounts

  • You need an account to create dynamic QR codes and short links. Give accurate information, keep your password safe, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You're responsible for what happens in your account.
  • You must be at least 18 to create an account.
  • An account has one or more workspaces. The owner of a workspace manages its plan and billing, and decides who else can use it. Members act on the workspace owner's behalf.

Dynamic QR codes and short links

  • A dynamic code points to a KeptLink short link, which sends visitors to the destination you choose. You can change the destination later. Changes usually reach visitors within a minute or two, not instantly.
  • We check destinations for phishing and malware when you create or change a link, and again later. If a destination is suspected to be unsafe, or a link breaks our Acceptable Use Policy, we may pause it, block it or show visitors a warning instead, and we may restrict the workspace.
  • Short codes are given out by us unless your plan includes choosing your own. We may refuse a code that is misleading, offensive or reserved.

Free trial and plans

  • New accounts get one 14-day free trial, without a card, with up to 3 dynamic codes. When the trial ends without a paid plan, those codes (at most 3, the oldest first) keep redirecting to their last destination, with the exceptions in our Continuity Pledge. The rest of the workspace is locked until you choose a plan: you can't edit codes, see analytics or create codes. Billing, account settings, support, exporting your data, deletion requests and downloading those codes' QR images stay available. Trials that started before October 18, 2026 could have up to 5 codes; their codes beyond the first 3 are paused until you choose a plan.
  • Each plan has the limits shown on our pricing page (for example, the number of dynamic codes, workspaces and team seats). If you move to a smaller plan while using more than it includes, everything you have keeps working, but you can't add more until you're within the new limits.
  • Features marked “coming soon” aren't part of a plan until they're released.

Payments

  • Payments are handled by Creem (creem.io), which acts as our reseller and Merchant of Record. Creem sells the subscription to you, charges your payment method, handles sales tax or VAT and issues your invoices.Creem's Buyer Terms also apply to your purchase.
  • Monthly and annual plans renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the billing page; the plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for.
  • If a renewal payment fails, you have 7 days to update your payment method. During that time everything keeps working. After that, the workspace is treated as cancelled (see below).
  • The founders' lifetime deal is a one-time payment, limited to the first 100 buyers, with the limits described on the pricing page. It lasts for as long as KeptLink offers the service (see our Continuity Pledge). Custom domains are included.
  • Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.

If you cancel

  • Codes created on a paid plan keep redirecting to their last destination after you cancel, unless a code is blocked for safety or under our Acceptable Use Policy.
  • The workspace becomes read-only: you can't edit destinations or create new codes. Visits keep being counted, and you see the full details again when you resubscribe.
  • If a payment is refunded, the workspace is treated as cancelled and its paid codes keep redirecting. If a payment is disputed (a chargeback), the workspace is suspended and its codes are paused until the dispute is resolved.

Custom domains

A code on your own domain works only while your domain's DNS record points to KeptLink. If you remove or change that record, or let the domain expire, those codes stop working, and we can't prevent that.

Your content

You keep ownership of your destinations, titles, logos and other content. You give us permission to store, process and display it only as needed to run KeptLink for you. You're responsible for having the right to use it, and for what your links point to.

Test before you print

Our generator checks each code on screen and warns about common problems, but a check on screen can't guarantee how a code will scan once printed. Printing, materials, size, lighting and the scanning device all affect results. Always test a printed sample with more than one phone before you print or publish in quantity.

Our content and software

The site's design, text, guides and software belong to KeptLink or its licensors. You may share links to our pages and quote short excerpts with a link back. Don't copy or republish our guides in full, copy the software, or try to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorized access to KeptLink.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account or workspace that breaks these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, or when required by law. Where the breach involves harmful links (for example phishing or malware), we may stop those links immediately. You can stop using KeptLink at any time.

No warranty

KeptLink is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work hard to keep short links fast and available, but to the fullest extent allowed by law we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that every code will scan on every device.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, KeptLink will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data, or for reprinting costs. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India.

Changes

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects paying customers, we'll tell workspace owners by email at least 30 days before it takes effect. The date at the top shows when the terms were last updated.
